We always keep functionality in mind when we are designing our seasonal collections and we knew that GOTS certified organic cotton foutas would be a perfect addition for Summer 2018.
So what is a fouta? The name is traditionally given to a thin cotton or linen towel used in Mediterranean countries, often in public baths in the 19th century. They are also known as turkish towels or peshtemals. These days, these European inspired towels are used for bath, beach, kitchen and beyond. We've rounded up our favorite uses for these organic beauties!
Quick Drying Bath Towel
Europeans love fouta towels for everyday use, because they are absorbent and quick drying. Our neutral patterns bring a soft and delicate aesthetic to the bathroom.
Beach Blanket & Sarong
You'll often see fouta towels for sale in the summer, because they make perfect beach towels. Their woven construction means they won't hold sand and they dry quickly so you don't have to stuff wet towels in your beach bag. Their size means that you can easily tie them up to be a sarong or wrap, making them the ideal beach cover up.
Kitchen Towel
Our foutas come in two sizes, hand and bath. The hand sizes work great as a kitchen towel. They are lint free and oversized which make them great for drying dishes and their patterns look great draped over your stove or dishwasher.
Picnic Blanket
Generously sized at 40" x 70", our foutas can easily be used as a picnic blanket or summer outdoor throw. Perfect to ward off the chill at a campfire, or to use as a foundation for cheese, crackers and wine at an outdoor concert.
